Chanel's Collection Libre 2017 Numeros Rouges: Rogue Allure N°4 Lipstick

. Monday 13 November 2017 .
If you ask for my honest opinion, I'd say that it's both a blessing and a curse that Chanel is conveniently located in Britomart. Just got off the train station? Chanel. On your way to dinner? Chanel. Going out for drinks? Chanel. Checking out the Saturday market? Chanel. I mean, how am I supposed to go about my day when Chanel is right there, its doors open and welcoming, with promises of treats inside?

Such was the case when I went to Chanel recently and saw their holiday collection. Don't you just love this time of the year? The build up to the holiday season when a lot of your favourite brands release their Christmas collection? I know I do. I love it so much that I spent the first day of November at T2 for an exclusive look at their holiday collection before it dropped in stores.

So stepping into Chanel that fateful Saturday morning made me feel extra festive. I'm a magpie for all things pretty (and let's face it, all things Chanel too) so the moment I laid eyes on this gorgeous N°5 FRAGMENTS D'OR, I was in awe. Smelling like Chanel's most iconic fragrance, this body gel has flecks of gold in it. Flecks. Of. Gold!!! I was like a child in a candy store as I looked at the rest of the collection (the highlight with a flower design embossed on it was so pretty, so was the eyeshadow palette) but my eyes kept reverting to the big bottle of gold glitter in front of me.
The lovely Chanel lady opened it up and encouraged me to try it. Am I ready to fall in love with this? Am I worthy of such delicate glitters adorning my body? These were the thoughts going through my head. But alas, I did try it and I can confirm that it is just as lovely on the skin as it is on the bottle. It just glided on my skin so smoothly and gave off the prettiest glimmer, and I loved how good it smelt.

I was already head over heels in love with this collection, and just when I thought I couldn't love it more, I saw it.

Red lipsticks. In a festive red packaging!
Now, I most definitely did not need another red lipstick. I've been saying this for years. I already own 3 reds from Chanel alone. I. Must. Resist. But I tried it on anyway, and chose the Rogue Allure N°4, a limited edition Orange Red. The packaging was half the reason I ended up taking this baby home with me that day. I've always been a fan of Chanel's sleek lipstick packaging - the one click to reveal the lipstick bullet is so innovative (we often talk about this at work, but that's another story) and creative. Black and gold, a timeless classic. So to find these limited edition lipsticks in a limited edition red and gold packaging? Could very well be Christmas already, I'm telling you.

In my defense, I don't actually own an Orange Red yet. Or anything orange for that matter. So really, I'm justifying this purchase with that and the pretty packaging makes me smile everytime I see it so really, who can say no to that?

Now I'm not sure if this will replace my Chanel 104 Passion as my favourite red, but I'm excited to find out.

Tis the season to be extra festive indeed and COLLECTION LIBRE 2017 NUMÉROS ROUGES is now available in Chanel Britomart.
